Receiver #1
2019 (Upgraded)
Acrylic, wood, modified printer, sensors, mechanical components, paper, locked box.
Receiver #1 is an integral part of the How to Clear Your Browser History installation, serving as a physical manifestation of digital surveillance and its permanence. Connected to Transceiver #1, this heavily modified printer captures images of viewers via facial recognition software. The printed images are ejected into a locked box, making them visible yet inaccessible, symbolizing the hidden but enduring nature of data collected in surveillance. The locked box creates a tension between visibility and control, challenging viewers to reflect on the unseen mechanisms that record and store personal information in the digital age. Receiver #1 is a powerful commentary on the dynamics of observation, privacy, and the commodification of identity.
