The Unselected
2016
Digital photography, glitch manipulation, archival prints on paper.
“The Unselected” explores the impermanence of online interactions and the hidden permanence of digital records. Capturing images from public chatrooms, the series critiques the illusion of privacy in digital spaces by reimagining these fleeting moments as enduring artifacts. Through glitch manipulation, the photos are distorted, reflecting the ways online surveillance alters our perception of reality. Printed on archival paper, these works challenge viewers to confront the tension between the ephemeral nature of digital communication and the indelible traces left behind.
